Description

Digital Tools in education is a fun and dynamic course that will equip participants with some of the best learning applications to boost their students’ creativity and collaboration making learning process fun. The course combines hands-on workshops, collaborative projects, and guided tutorials.

Our students have been growing up in a digital environment, and many of them live through screens. New generations have been connected through digital devices and engaged through social media. It is crucial to incorporate digital tools into the learning process. This course will help participants discover a diverse span of best tools to grab their students’ attention and foster concentration.

During this course, the participants will be provided with tips and tricks on how to use AI to prepare their lessons faster than ever, and how to create a collaborative and fun environment for their students.

Participants will be introduced with each tool and be provided with tips and tricks on the use of most innovative teaching apps. Through practical tasks and active participation, teachers will be engaged in content creation, learn how to use digital tools for formative assessment, use gamification and multimedia resources.

By the end of the course, the participants will learn how to design interactive digital content that captivates and educates students across diverse subjects and grade levels.

Learning outcomes

The course will help the participants to:

  • Explore innovative techniques and skills for modernizing the classroom experience
  • Utilize game-based collaborative tools to create engaging learning experiences in the classroom
  • Use various online platforms to create interactive and engaging educational content
  • Find online tools with available resources for their subjects
  • Incorporate AI tools like Chat GPT and other technology resources
  • Foster active participation and critical thinking
  • Effectively employ assessment tools to evaluate students’ learning and provide immediate feedback

Tentative schedule

Day 1 – Introduction to the course and digital tools in education

  • Welcome event; presenting participants, their schools, cities, countries
  • Presenting host organization and the city
  • Getting to know each other: Icebreakers
  • Introduction to the course and the schedule

Day 2 – Artificial Intelligence tools in the classroom

  • Reinventing the classroom experience: Skills and techniques for modern educators
  • Introducing AI as the second teacher: Chat GPT and other useful tools
  • Guided walking tour (available for all courses)

Day 3 – Creative and game-based tools

  • Game-based collaborative tools:
  • Creating multimodal scavenger hunt for your classroom
  • Explore JeopardyLabs to create a customized jeopardy template without PowerPoint
  • Learn how to build your own Escape Room
  • Transform your stories into books with StoryJumper

Day 4 – Introducing presentation software

  • Spark debate and discussion
  • Keep every student engaged with this presentation software

Specifics


Certificate : To obtain the Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course, participants must attend at least 80 % of the classes.
Schedule : During the week, classes take place either in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the trainers’ availability. The final schedule is provided no later than 2 weeks prior to the participants’ arrival. The course provider may make minor last minute changes to the schedule if the situation requires it.
Cultural activities : A guided walking tour is a part of each course. Upon arrival participants receive a brochure with a list of activities and places to see at each course location.
Equipment : Participants may be required to bring their own laptop or a tablet, depending on the course.
Course Fee : For a 7-day course 560 € for tuition and materials, covered with the course fee that participants get with the grant: 80 € per day.
