A teacher training course in Iceland: A week to remember in Reykjavik

This week was so much more than a course. It was a celebration of teaching, learning, culture, and connection. We shared ideas, laughed together, supported one another, and built bonds that will no doubt outlast our time in Iceland. It went by faster than we wished, but the memories will stay with us.

Platform21: great experience in Reykjavik
I’m deeply grateful to the amazing trainers who made our course in Iceland such a beautiful, constructive, and enriching experience.
Their passion, professionalism, and creativity turned every session into a true moment of learning and growth.
Beyond the knowledge we gained, they managed to create an engaging and inclusive atmosphere among all participants — one that inspired collaboration, curiosity, and genuine connection.
Thank you for making this journey unforgettable and for reminding us that great training is not only about learning skills, but also about building community and shared purpose.

I had an amazing time with Erasmus+ Platform21 crew! Ana and Margi were kind, professional, prepared and sensitive teachers who gave me the chance to learn a lot of good stuff about AI, very useful for my work. I met a lot of new colleagues from other countries in Europe and this is a great added value to the experience. Thank you guys! Hope to see you soon in the future!

Attending the Erasmus+ course Innovative Methods for Foreign Language Teaching in Reykjavik was a wonderful experience. The course was extremely well-organized, engaging, and full of practical ideas that can be easily applied in the classroom.

The teachers were outstanding — knowledgeable, supportive, and always ready to share their expertise and insights. They created a positive and inspiring learning environment where everyone felt encouraged to participate and exchange ideas.

We had a great time both inside and outside the classroom. The sessions were dynamic and interactive, and we also enjoyed plenty of fun and cultural activities that made the whole experience unforgettable.

Overall, this course was an excellent combination of professional development, collaboration, and enjoyment. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in exploring innovative approaches to language teaching.

An unforgettable experience in the lovely city of Split!
I took the course “IA in Education: Best tools for schools”, and it was amazing, offering high quality content, delivered by expert trainers. The group was formed by teachers from different countries, who collaborated in different tasks, making the whole experience even more enriching. I couldn’t ask for more. I came back home with many resources and tips that we can use at school from day 1. Thank you very much, Platform21! And Congratulations on a great organisation and such good course!

I got very useful knowledge from the Soft skills courses, which was beyond my expectations. It’s a great choice for Erasmus courses. The communication was very smooth and, best of all, the course was in the beautiful city of Split in Croatia!

Really interesting course if you want to find practical activities to practice mindfulness to clear your mind and be at peace with yourself and and to use in the classroom.Visualisations, creativity, some theoretical ideas about attachment to understand your reactions and those of the people you are working with. The teachers are really welcoming, communicative and extremely empathetic. Split is a beautiful place and the teachers suggested to stay in a beautiful place close to the beach and the course, Casa Costabella.

The best experience I’ve had for quite some time in my teaching/learning career. Everything surpassed my expectations – the course itself, the highly engaged participants with great sense of humour, learning with ease about the soft skills and the new technologies, with amusement and group work activities. But above all, I should mention the trainers, Ana and Irena – dedicated, enthusiastic, helpful – just amazing ladies! Thank you so much!
P.S. The sightseeing was also superb! It was a week packed with experiential learning and wonderful experiences!

It was like a whole new universe of skills and competences that are of paramount importance and generate added value to the system of higher education but are often unheeded to or only en passant mentioned in university courses. It was a week of learning, experimenting, sharing, trying to be innovative, overcoming challenges, and feeling support and encouragement all along the way. In the pursuit of hard skills, it seems we have forgotten how overwhelmingly important and decisive soft skills can be for our professional development and for creating job opportunities for our students. In a forever changing digital world to which we need to adapt every day, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity can easily become survival skills. Digital enhancements and digital extension are ubiquitous in the modern world but can easily coax us into misinterpreting data and phenomena but for the 4 Cs. And these are the skills that our inspiring teachers Ana and Irena made so easy for us to grasp, reconsider, implement, develop and maintain in our teaching practice.

Everything was superlative. We had authentic learning experiences. Ana and Irena are absolutely the trainers we need: attentive, spontaneous, involved, cooperative, facilitators of learning, consummate professionals. I learned things that will remain etched in my mind forever. I met and worked as a team with wonderful people. Friendships were made. We learned from each other, we had fun, we created new scenarios with the help of “c to the 4th power” skills. I recommend!
