Teaching Methods

Teaching methods are the principles and techniques teachers use to help students learn, ranging from direct instruction to active approaches such as project-based learning, inquiry, gamification and drama, chosen to suit the subject and the learners.

Our teaching methods courses are for teachers who want to change how their lessons work, not only what they teach. Each course focuses on approaches that get students talking, moving and making things, and shows when and how to use them within an ordinary timetable.

Participants practise game-based learning and gamification, project-based learning built around real problems, and drama and storytelling that build confidence and fluency. Other courses cover the flipped classroom and formative assessment through quizzes and games, design thinking and hands-on experiments in STEAM, and playful learning for preschool and primary pupils.

Several courses show how AI and digital tools can support these methods: differentiating materials and assessments for every learner, including gifted and SEN students, giving faster feedback, and designing tasks that ask students to show their reasoning rather than copy an answer.

Participants try each method themselves before adapting it to their own subject and age group, and leave with materials ready for their own classroom.

All eleven courses can be funded through Erasmus+ KA1. They run for 5 to 7 days in Split, and several also have dates in Zagreb and Reykjavik. Select a course to check its next available dates.
