Teaching involves far more than delivering lessons. Planning, preparing materials, adapting activities, assessing students, grading, creating rubrics, providing feedback and completing paperwork are some of the most demanding and time-consuming parts of a teacher’s work.

This practical course explores how Artificial Intelligence can support teachers with these everyday responsibilities, helping them save time, streamline their workflow and focus more on meaningful teaching and interaction with students.

Participants will learn how to use AI tools to create lesson plans, generate teaching ideas, prepare classroom materials, design assessments, develop rubrics, support grading and feedback, and simplify repetitive administrative tasks. They will also explore how AI can help adapt tasks, instructions and learning materials for different levels, abilities and learning needs within the same classroom.

A strong emphasis is placed on practical use. Participants will work with real teaching situations and explore tools that can support different stages of the teaching process, from initial planning and material creation to assessment, feedback and reflection.

Through hands-on workshops, participants will create lesson plans, differentiated materials, assessment tasks, rubrics and feedback strategies that can be immediately adapted to their own educational context.

The aim is not to replace the teacher’s expertise, but to use AI as a practical assistant that reduces workload, supports better organisation and gives teachers more time for what matters most: teaching, creativity and supporting their students.

Tentative schedule

Day 1 – Welcome, Introduction and AI in Education

• Welcome event and introduction to the course
• Presentation of the host organisation and trainers, introduction to the city and local context
• Icebreakers and getting to know the group
• Sharing participants’ teaching backgrounds, expectations and previous experience with AI
• Introduction to the role of AI in everyday teaching

Day 2 – Lesson Planning with AI

• Creating lesson plans from learning objectives and curriculum outcomes
• Generating ideas for activities, discussions, projects and classroom tasks
• Adapting lesson plans to different subjects, age groups and teaching contexts
• Connecting learning objectives, activities and assessment
• Creating structured and engaging lessons more efficiently
• Practical workshop: developing a complete AI-supported lesson plan

Day 3 – Creating and Differentiating Learning Materials

• Creating worksheets, texts, exercises and classroom activities with AI

Day 4 – Assessment for Learning

• Creating diagnostic questions, quizzes and short assessment activities

Day 5 – Grading, Rubrics and Meaningful Feedback

Day 6 – Less Paperwork, More Teaching

Day 7 – From Planning to Assessment: The Complete AI-Supported Teaching Cycle
